As someone who doesn't underrate themselves, I know that I am more than capable of building my Twitch channel up to a level where I can turn it into a side job however... there is one problem.

My parents are very unsupportive.

Every time I bring the idea up to my mom, she never wants to talk about it.

Every time a I bring it up to my dad, I have to endure a rant about how I need to "expand my horizons" which makes no sense since I already have a full time job and I never spend 24/7 playing video games to begin with.

Not trying to demonize my parents in any way since they have been loving supporters of everything else in my life but understandably, they never grew up in any community where playing games was able to generate profit and they probably will never understand.

So I ask you guys, what do I do? I want to stream more frequently and build a following but it would suck if it interferes with the feelings and expectations of my own family.

Your dad must want you to stream on Mixer. Like Ninja.

sounds like your parents dont care about gaming/that type of thing, i know my dad doesnt care about it and wants me to work for him which i hate his type of job, but my mom is supportive, but you see dont tell your parents just do it and boom they will see and then become supportive.

not everyones parents cares about gaming nor streaming, thats why kids do it anyways same with youtube, just do it and dont talk about it to them, let them see that you can get 50+ viewers and make money doing it, gotta start somewhere with unspportive parents am i right?

If you're at the point where you have a full time job, you should be at the point where you make your own decisions.
If you know you can do it, why don't you?

Only way I see it is they need to see it in order to believe it.
Until you start making money and being able to show it can be your side job they probably wont believe it.
