Im wanting to get a pc but have no idea if i should go ahead and buy one or wait

Usualy can get some cheap parts during summer with people upgrading and such, think I may hold off till cyber monday or something but I'm right there with ya lol

Are you looking to buy a pre-built system or building your own?

With pre-built systems, you can find some "okay" deals. Depending on the builder of the system, they'd cheap out where ever they can. Typically it's on cooling, PSU, sometimes storage (no SSD, REEE!) or the case. Just bare in mind that it's cheaper to build your own.

Personally, I'm waiting to build a Zen 2 Ryzen based system with Navi however the parts are gonna be too expensive for me...

Shouldn't be too expensive, the CPU's at least. R5 3600 for £/$200 + £/$90-125 for a decent B450/X470 mobo. Should be a killer combo.

AMD killed Navi before they even released it IMO with current pricing. There is already a Turing alternative for a similar or better price, and they come with an additional feature; RTX, even if it is a 'useless' feature for some people, it's still an additional feature. Plus rumours of a Turing refresh and/or price cut is pretty much NVidia taking a dump on Radeon's grave.

Maybe we'll see some lower end Navi variants, and/or more competitive pricing upon release but for now, Navi looks pretty pointless to me. GTX 1660(Ti)/RTX 2060 are pretty well priced currently.

Um... I'm not in the UK so pricing is going to be kinda different. My statement about it being too expensive was due to personal financial struggle atm.

Yeah, um, I didn't know they already priced Navi GPU's so that's gonna be a hard pass... I'm one of those people that doesn't need RTX or ray tracing but didn't want to go with Vega 64 or a RX 580/590. Wanted a AMD based system for productivity (Blender, Unreal, Unity) and possibly streaming.

Fair enough, just pointing out that an R5 and $100ish mobo is a solid, cost-effective mid-range option.

$379 and $449 MSRP for the 2 Navi variants coming in a few weeks and if pricing doesn't change, then they're not really enough to convince anyone to buy Navi over Turing.
