So i have my GCSEs this month and im really not looking forward to them at all, Im studying for them but Im Still getting really stressed out over them and getting worried that I will fail them,
Has anyone been in the same position as me before? |

Me personally ive never taken a GCSE as I live in the USA but I got a buddy that has to take his this month and he isn't nervous about taking them. Best thing you could do is study as hard as you can and believe in yourself. Have some confidence you're gonna rock the GCSE don't think you're gonna fail think of the positive things

If you prepare well by revising and taking regular breaks between revising and not cram everything in the night before the exam you will do just fine. At the end of the day if you know you have given it your very best shot then nobody can say anything. You gave it your all and whatever outcome you will get will be the best possible outcome. Do not think it is the end of the world when you receive your grade if it isn't what you expected, as you can always retake them in the next level of education - College. I did not know this and I had a friend who was worried when he was a couple marks away from a grade C but he got the opportunity to re take GCSE maths alongside his College course. It's been quite some time since I've done my GCSE's but working in a school, I see it all too often the toll it takes on students.
My advice, chill out. Parents more-so than teachers put far too much pressure on you guys to do well like it's the end of the earth if you don't do great. That's a lie. Just remember that you can always re-take your GCSE's later on down the road in college or your sixthform. I'm going to use the old grading system because I'm not clued up on the numbers yet... So for me, I failed English with a D but managed to pass with everything else that mattered like Sci, Maths & IT. With this, I went to sixth form and they agreed I could do the highest IT course that they offer if I done my English with them too. Managed to do that and well, here I am.. Just remember, exams are not reflective of your skills so if you do bad, it's really not the end of the world. There's many ways that you can get out of this so called hole. An apprenticeship for example will allow you to work whilst taking Maths & English again if you failed them. So, I hope you get what I mean, this really isn't too much of a big deal. Good luck! |

I was kinda in the same position. I was predicted C's and B's in most subjects but my school lost a lot of teachers in the final two years i was there and was set to close down for good upon my year finishing.
So due to having little actual teaching and little support, plus the fact I'm just not an exam person and can't revise well, I think I left school with GCSE's in English Lit and Language and Maths, and then passes in IT and PE. I did dreadfully. What happens will happen, just got to keep going and keep your head up. I managed to get onto the college course I wanted to and then ended up at University, got my undergraduate degree and I'm now in the final stages of a Masters degree. If you know what you want to do for a career or at least have an idea, then just use that as motivation like I have. It might be tough at points but anything is possible. |

This guy pretty much explained what I was going to say, he is very much right and its pretty much what i did. I wanted to go to university, but i failed maths so i couldn't get into my sixth form. Decided to go to college and did a relevant course and maths at the same time. Passed them all and now I'm in university. As for revising, my method was that i would just pay attention in class and didn't revise at home, purely because i would just sit there and be stressed procrastinating. Instead, i did topical revision on the day of the exam so it was fresh in my memory. For things like maths i just watched youtube videos. Hope this helps, dont forget gcses are only important until you start earning more qualifications. |

| It's quite natural to feel worried/stressed about examinations because you do not want to fail them. What I suggest is to try not to stress yourself out too much, that is probably the worst thing you can do. Focus on studying for your set of exams and ensure you have had enough preparation in order to do your best in them. Take breaks if you need to, take good care of yourself, don't neglect your own health. |

| Don't worry about them fella, I only passed one. There really not important now a days experience is a lot better than grades. Go straight into an apprenticeship or work soon as you leave school, It'll benefit you bettter |

| I feel the same way bro, i have them also this month. and the worst part about it is my first exam is on Computer Science which i literally have no clue about lmao |
