Hi all been searching for an answer to this issue for some time now with no results. Every time I try to use my wired USB controller on the xbox 360 I have to unplug it from the usb port and plug it back in again so the green light will stop blinking on the controller and change to 1. The controller works fine until I reset or power off/power on the console. Then the green light starts blinking on the controller again and it wont work or sync to 1 again until I unplug it from the usb port and plug it back in again.

Can anyone help me with this please as its driving me nuts LOL

this usually happens when you aren't using a genuine Microsoft controller (a cheap one from ebay).

The issue with problems like this is it's pretty hard to pinpoint without another controller you can use.
If you can get your hands on a friends controller or something, try to see if it's the controller or it might be the USB ports on the console.
The only idea I have is plugging it into the USB port in the back of the console and see if that changes anything.
Hard to find the problem on google since every problem is either for Xbox one or a wireless controller.
You might just be a bit out of luck and will have to do that every time.

Yeah I have 2 usb controllers but they are not official controllers but they work fine on the PC. The wireless official one works fine. But I hate wireless technology for the reason the batteries die too quickly and need frequently replaced.

the one i used wasn't an official wired controller and it did the same thing. i would recommend buying an official wired controller if you want to get rid of the problem. if not you will just have to put up with it.

I always have 2 sets of rechargeable batteries for this exact reason, always have one set ready to go for when the other dies.

Hey I got the unofficial Rock Candy wired controller I was using for the PC to work on the XBOX 360 without any problems. So I'm just using the other one that didn't work right on the XBOX 360 for the PC controller now. All's well that ends well. Thanks for help
