For the last 3-4 weeks at exactly midnight; without fail, my internet turns off and back on again and throughout the rest of the night (every 20-30 minutes) I had an engineer come around and "fix the issue" and obviously it's not fixed.

I'm just curious as to what the issue could be? No one else in this area has the same issue, just us. I've looked up days on end trying to come up with any kind of reason as to why but I can't figure out why?

Anyone who can help?

dont think its a router issue when i lived with my dad since he switched from a crappy isp called bell to a shady scam isp called altima his internet goes down every single 2hours at random times of the day, never heard of routers and modems being programmed to restart at random thats just fking stupid to force on people, im assuming its what ever isp op is with didnt do a good job as the internet that you are paying shouldnt be randomly be restarting without user understanding, unless they upgraded op to a better service

this is going to be highly unlikely, and you might think im crazy, but maybe solar flares are interrupting your wifi signal.

Internet companies shut it down in the middle of the night to save money.

Okay, that might be a little overboard. But it's what I thought because the same thing happens to me but around 2am. It just shuts off for a minute or 2.

Ok, so some replies above are pretty stupid.

I would log onto the router and find out if it is scheduled to restart at a certain time. To log onto the router open a command prompt > type in 'ipconfig' note the default gateway address down > open a web browser and browse to the address you have noted down.

Check for anything like system maintenance etc.

I don't suppose you have your router plugged into a timer socket do you lol?
