Well, I just recently upgraded my 980Ti to a 1070Ti(for $100).
I plugged my GPU in and now my MOBO won't post. (MOBO shows error 60 or b0.

So now I need a new MOBO, but I am not sure where to start when it comes to MOBOs. I was looking at a ROG Maximus Hero XI (WiFi) and felt that was fairly good for what I was going for.

Here is my current build.

Edit: I did flash my MOBO's BIOS, tried different RAM, CPU, GPU, PSU too. Nothing seemed to work.

Well, that doesn't make any sense. Your motherboard shouldn't just die after you swap out GPU's.

So, you updated the BIOS and now the system won't POST? That's definitely not a GPU issue, or CPU/RAM/PSU. What BIOS did you try to flash? The old Strix boards don't have dual BIOS AFAIK, but luckily for you, that mobo should have BIOS flashback.

Lastly, even if you do need a new motherboard, the Maximus XI Hero would not work.

Also worth noting that 1070Ti is a sidegrade from the 980Ti. 1070Ti will perform a little better in games for the most part, and gives you Freesync support, but the 980Ti still has a load more CUDA cores so the 980Ti is better for editing/rendering with CUDA acceleration(obviously), so if you do any of that the 1070Ti is technically a downgrade.

I got the BIOS update straight from the website, plugged my USB in and used the flash BIOS button the MOBO has on the back I/O panel.

BIOS: asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRI...Desk_BIOS/

For my GPU situation, I had previously tried crypto mining on my card and messed it up. My 980Ti would get me about 15FPS on Minecraft and still have drops. Just as bad on other games, so it was a needed upgrade as well.

About the Maximus, I should have checked the chipset. That's a rookie move. Ffs. Lmao, I'll find something
