Yes, it could've been a rip off of Apex. But you gotta realise. Apex came out of nowhere and they took a little bit of everything from every BR and made a fantastic game. From pubg's loot system/attachment system to bo4's callout system. And don't forget, fortnite had a callout system for calling our for heals/ammo etc but it was trash because the characters are mutes.

And FN had nothing to go off of. And they saw how much people liked the apex ping/respawn system. And its a good idea. They saw how good it worked, how it worked on consoles etc.

Just how pubg added dances and the battlepass after they saw how good FN was doing with the system.

If it wasn't for Arma 3 & H1Z1 there would be no PUBG and so on... Its how gaming evolves.... Just think about older games.. When open world was first introduced that then introduced alot more open world games its the exact same thing they all just take ideas from each other to see who can come up with the best thing while creating bigger and better games each time..

People really just want fortnite to die for some reason. It's not even a bad game. I personally don't play it often because i don't have a consistent group of people who play it and apex plays so much faster. The only downtime i have is when i'm looking through 3-4 crates where's i'm constantly farming mats on FN.

And tbh it feels nice to see your name up on the billboards as the kill leader/champions.

Edit: Also on FN i get this freeze bug where it crashes my game every time i try to go to Battle Royale. I tried looking up methods to fix it, but nothing comes up sadly. I gotta reset the game like 12 times before it works.
