That sounds about right for a new engine, some people say that after the break in period they notice no difference, and some say they see a huge difference. I think the number you're talking about is the "miles to E", go fill up and see if the number changes. When you reset the MPG one it takes a while to recalculate. It might be in your settings to reset when the car is turned off. When you are in stop and go your fuel economy is shot. It takes a lot of miles to make that accurate to your driving style.
I did 204 miles from a hair above full to gas light on which was my first tank in it and now I'm on my second tank. I filled it up this time to a hair under full and I'm currently about 3 days in and 45 miles or so deep into the trip with a hair under 3/4 of a tank
