Tougher punishments on child abusers, rapists and such. The law is a joke when it comes to sentencing people who actually deserve the longest sentence possible.

As much as this would be nice, it's not possible

For instance, If a rapist will get life in prison or a death sentence, why would they let their victim live? The chance of them being caught is much lower without a testifying witness and since you're making they'll be getting life in prison or a death sentence anyway, murdering them isn't going to make things worse.

This is basically what happens when you make rape, child abuse etc more strict. They tend to just kill the victims instead of letting them live because the sentences are similar and it reduces their chances of being caught dramatically

That's not even going into how many false child abuse/rape cases and how many innocent people get jailed for this stuff
