I recently upgraded to gigabit internet (spectrum), and I previously had 400mb download. Upon upgrading the speeds really did not change from 400mb to 940mb download. I checked the download speeds between the two and they are about the same on the PS4. I also checked it on my iMac and it was just a little faster. So is it really worth the 30$ more a month, or should I just go back down to 400mb download since it runs the same speed on my devices. What do you guys think?

Thanks.

Go back, unless you're an avid mac user. Otherwise I don't see the point in keeping it if you're not getting any benefits.

1gig download is so worth it beats waiting 100+gig game to download for hours, as for the speed i would contact the isp as thats something wrong with the lines, and remember psn download servers are shitty and dont work as intended

1 gb downloads depends on your devices, if they can't handle the 1 gb speeds, there isn't any point. Most peoples household devices can't even do gb so I would just downgrade. I would say at this time 400x20 would suffice as most servers won't even give you you 1 gb per second. But hey, that's my opinion.

If you got the money why not, who doesn't like having the best internet speeds you can get.
However 200 down 10 up is doing just fine for me at the moment.

You might need a new router. I had the same issue as you, I upgraded my internet, but was getting pretty much the same speeds so I contacted my ISP and was told that the router I had was "out of date" and didn't support my new speeds. They ended up sending me a new router and everything was just fine after that so I would recommend contacting your ISP to see if you have the same issue.

I don't think it would be my router. I have the newest Netgear nighthawk. I went ahead and downgraded, I did research and the devices I have don't support 1gb internet anyways.

Yeah, I contacted spectrum and they didn't run any fiber wire. I was told prior to upgrading that it would need to be installed. The service tech said that I just switch the middle line or something like that. I went ahead and downgraded anyways. Seems to stay strong at 400/20
