So the past month has been probably one of the most intense of my entire life. I mainly just want to update you all.
Nov, 8th 2018 - I was getting ready for work and was going about a early day (I had early AM meetings and work graveywards, so I am usually asleep during this time and same with everybody else in the house) I feel like this is the only reason I am alive at the moment. About 7:30 I get an update saying that there was a fire in the town of Pulga, CA. This was about 15 miles from the town of Paradise/Magalia CA. I had about 15 minutes to pack all of what I could carry in a suitcase. Thank goodness I was able to get out because by the time I had to leave, I saw my neighbors a block over house on fire with about 40 foot flames. Gridlock traffic trying to get out was madness, people were getting out of their cars and leaving them behind. My roommate was one of these people as we ran out of gas. (we ended up recovering the car). It took me about 5 1/2 hours to evacuate. Dec, 6th 2018 - Today I was able to go up to what was left of my neighborhood. People digging though rubble and I managed to snag a video of the property. Here is a photo of the before. This was taken in March 2018. |

Been worried about you since day one and at the end of the day I'm just glad you're okay. Trying to imagine myself in your situation is just impossible.
There's no words I can say that will change anything or make you feel better, I'm just so so sorry for you, and everyone affected by this terrible fire. I'm only a couple hours away, I hope you know I'll try my best to help you with anything I can. |
