Red Dead Online starts this week, and it's ready to transform Red Dead Redemption 2, say its makers, "into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players."

As confirmed by Rockstar Games [via Variety], Red Dead 2's dedicated multiplayer mode rolls out this Tuesday - but initially only for those who purchased the Ultimate Edition. Players who jumped into the Wild West on launch day (October 26th) can enjoy Online on Wednesday!

To be more awkward, if you first explored Red Dead 2 within its first three days of release, you can play Online on Thursday. Finally, for everyone else (probably those waiting for a Black Friday sale), you can enjoy the multiplayer on Friday.


In the meantime, enjoy a brief description of what Red Dead Online has to offer, from Rockstar Games itself:

"Create and customise your character, tailor your abilities to suit your play style and head out into a new frontier full of things to experience.

Explore this huge world solo or with friends. Form or join a Posse to ride with up to seven players; gather around the fire at your Camp; head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions.

Interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole Posses in open world challenges and much more."
