I have a 89 corvette that just recently had the ignition cylinder lock mess up and stay locked in the run possition with the key stuck in it.

ive done research and it looks like i have to pull the wheel to replace it. smfh

theres also some other things needed to be done in order to get to the cylinder itself.

does anyone have experience with older gm cars replacing cylinders ill be doing it tomorrow so i need some help

thanks in advance.

I've done it before, not a procedure like that though. All I had to do was pull off the trim on the column, there's a button to depress, and the whole cylinder comes out (when key is in). Kinda weird to me that you have to pull the steering wheel, just make sure you disconnect the battery and wait 10 mins or so!
