I use Spectrum and over time it's gotten bad, horrible connection on xbox live for the past week, paying $70 a month. Ready to switch to a different company. Who do you go through?

I, too, have Spectrum. However, unlike you, I have had great service from them.
I've had them for about 3 years so far and not once have I had any unscheduled outages, drop in bandwith/promised speeds or any bad dealings with Customer Serive.
I pay $60/month for 200Down 20Up.

Sorry to hear you are looking for a new provider. I hope you find one that meets your needs.

Mediacom, huge midwest internet provide that has bought out a bunch of little ISP all over the U.S.

Luckily I'm under their fiber coverage... 230 mb/s down speed is incredible.

I liked Spectrum in the beginning, but my bill ended up going from $50 to $70 after 7 months. No one from their customer service could tell me why.

I'm actually a installer for Spectrum here in New York, before saying the service itself is bad , I would schedule a service call to have a tech come look at your cable lines. Cuz more than likely if you are having issues with the service and you know the equipment isn't bad, the only issue would lie in the line from the Utility pole to your house. Cable does go bad. Worth a shot to look into if your services are not working the way they should.

Wi-Fi can be a bit terrible especially if you have other people on the same network. I have spectrum and when I run Wi-Fi on my Xbox I'm getting less then 30 MBps, but when I switch to wired I get 200 MBps and 20 upload. Try using a wired connection especially with a xbox or any other gaming device you may have.

I would suggest a cat 5 or cat 6 ethernet cable.
