Canadian rapper Drake, who made headlines earlier this year when he streamed Fortnite with Ninja, is now investing in gaming in a much bigger way.

Drake, along with entertainment business mogul Scooter Braun, have invested an undisclosed amount of money into the ESports brand "100 Thieves." The company was founded by former professional gamer Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag and Cleveland Cavaliers chairman Dan Gilbert.

"With Drake and Scooter's support, we're going to build a lasting brand on the back of the content and apparel that our fans have come to love, aggressively expand into more games, scale our apparel business, and build a world-class management team," Nadeshot said in a statement.

Drake and Braun will become "strategic advisors" for 100 Thieves. In addition to Drake and Braun, 100 Thieves recently received investment money from Sequoia Capital, WndrCo, Tao Capital, Green Bay Ventures, and Advancit Capital, as well as Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

100 Thieves bills itself as a "lifestyle, apparel, and esports organisation" that owns teams competing in professional tournaments for games like Call of Duty, League of Legends, Fortnite, and Clash Royale.

The good thing about this move by Drake is that more and more celebrities will begin to get invested in e-Sports, which is sure to be a phenomenon in the next few years. Hopefully, celebrities will see that e-Sports is a great investment as of now and will continue to show support and/or join organizations such as 100T, who also signed Valkyrae as a content creator a few days ago.

100% Agree! It's one of the best investments anyone could make right now.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the first celeb to do it was Rick Fox (Owner of Echo Fox), and I'm not to sure why nobody followed him to be honest.

In addition to this Michael Jordan just went in on a 27M investment group to buy Axiomatic (Team Liquid)
E-Sports is getting wild, money is everywhere because there's just so much advertising availability.
