Okay so I'm in a bit of a struggle at the moment, I've put in an offer of $1,100 for a gamertag which I could just about afford. Now that I've beeb outbid, I feel bad for the person I offered it to, he seems like a genuine good bloke. I've bern offered a loan of £1000 with VERY high interest. In total I'd have to pay back £1300+.

I have also been suspended from work due to gross misconduct, so I'm getting less pay at the end of the month. Is this s bad idea taking a loan to buy this? I mean I genuinely really want this tag.

Please don't comment bs stuff about spending so much money on a gamertag, it's my money, i can spend it on £1000 worth of toilet roll if I wanted to.

Really looking for some proper advice..

also where are you getting that loan wonga? as you've basically lost your job why would you blow that much money? on something meaningless?

heck the fact that you needed to make this post enforces my theory you've made up your mind. GLHF

I mean if your bringing home enough money to pay off the loan but also enough to look after your well being then it's your choice your money at the end of the day.

But if you ain't got enough to pay for that and have enough to pay for bills and things i wouldn't bother man

No, it's a terrible idea. A gamertag can wait. You're not in a good situation all ready, why would you want to put your self further in a hole?

Focus on getting a new job and getting back on your feet. Save up and if you can afford it later on down the line, sure, go for it.

If you can't afford it up front don't ever consider it (unless there's proper finance for it, e.g. a car etc). It's definitely not worth it for a gamer tag.

What do you mean by taking a loan? Did you walk into a cash advance place and get a loan? Or did the guy who owns the tag offer to let you pay him back and just get the tag now?

Either way...I would not do it.

If you live your life always feeling bad for other people, especially when there is money involved then you might always be making poor financial decisions. Gotta draw the line and take care of yourself.

I dont think anyone is commenting on the fact you are going to spend that much money on a gamertag...But that you are getting a loan, for $1,000, and going to drop it on a gamertag...Something you wont even physically have...All at the same time of being broke? That is where the problem comes in..

This is a horrible idea. Especially since you're off work now. Put that money where it will be useful for your future.
