Here's a little background about what happened on 9/11/2001:

  • At 8:46 AM, a jet, apparently Flight 11, slammed into the northeast face of the tower, creating an impact hole that extended from the 92nd to 98th floors.
  • The North Tower began its precipitous collapse at 10:28 AM.
  • Later on, at 9:03 AM, a jet, apparently Flight 175, slammed into the southwest face of the tower, creating an impact hole that extended from the 78th to 84th floors
  • The South Tower began its precipitous collapse at 9:59 AM
  • At about 9:37 AM a jetliner, presumably American Airlines Flight 77, flew toward the western face of the Pentagon and exploded as it smashed through the the facade, primarily on the first floor.
  • At 10:06 AM, Flight 93 went down near Somerset, PA. United Airlines Flight 93 was the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, short of its alleged target, the Capital.

Every year I'll watch videos of what was happening and the aftermath on YouTube. It's always an eye opener to see that footage. Last year I recall seeing something by Casey Neistat that showed good footage.
It's crazy to see how much our country is still impacted by 9/11 because a few years ago when I was still in highschool, it was a topic in my history class.
My heart still hurts to see so many innocent people killed the way they were. Let's at least be thankful it's not an everyday occurrence. Thanks for this post, Famous, it's always so scary but so important to remember what happened on that horrible day.
Let's not forget to be forever thankful of all the firefighters and first responders who risked their lives that day and continue to risk their lives for the betterment of others.

A sad part of this is high school seniors weren't alive for this terrible event. We must remind the young ones of Terrorism or else history will repeat itself.

Man I was in first grade when this happened. My elementary school was within 15 miles of Logan Airport in Boston and we heard air raid sirens and were told our parents were coming to get us. Such a sad day for this country.
