Synopsis:
The universe is a mysterious and strange place, full of even stranger and more mysterious aliens. Dandy's job is to hunt down unclassified aliens and register them for a reward. It sounds easy enough, but something weird always seems to happen along the way, like chance meetings with zombies, mystical ramen chefs, and adorable orphans. Hunting down aliens may not be easy, but it's definitely never boring.

With the help of his sidekicks, the adorable robot vacuum QT and cat-like alien Meow, and his slightly-used ship the Aloha Oe, Dandy roams the galaxy searching for new alien species. What he usually finds, however, is adventure, danger, and romance, and no two journeys (or universes) are ever the same. This is SpaceDandy, baby!

Background:
SpaceDandy reunites a number of lead production staff members from Cowboy Bebop, including producer Masahiko Minami and director Shinichiro Watanabe. Its production involved as many as 70 animation creators and 20 musical artists as collaborators, with Watanabe insisting that artists could only use pre-1984 musical styles. Although character designer Yoshiyuki Itou is credited as an animation director, his designs were not standardized across the series, allowing for individual animators to express their style.

The series was licensed in North America by Funimation. Due to licensing issues, their initial simulcast used the instrumental track Cosmic Adventure by jazz band Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro as the opening song. Viva Namida was used from the 8th episode onwards.

Story:
In this anime we follow a alien bounty hunter, named Dandy. His journey is to find rare aliens with his his friend "Meow", and his robot assistant QT. Him and his crew act dimwitted at times but they still get the mission/job done. Dandy and his crew are also pursued by Dr. Gel of the Gogol Empire. The series jumps back and forth, with people dieing and turning into zombies. But in the next episode there completely normal, it keeps you on edge and want to binge watch it.

Characters:
The characters are amazing. While Dandy might seem annoying at first with all of his boob jokes. He is definitely a character that will simply win you over the series with his over the top, contagious stupidity, and funny jokes. There is also QT, that looks like a vacuum cleaner and operates like one. While he may be smarter than Dandy he lacks his outdated hardware and always needing batteries.
We also have Meow, which has alot of common things cats do. Like shunning alien dogs, and staying away from dogs. And he loves to eat ramen. So much so he has emergency ramen bowls.

Art:
The art in this anime is great, sometimes even with the weird art put into it. So weird that it helps to reinforce the story, and tell a tale.

Sound:
The music was awesome, it seemed to perfectly fit the anime and the scenes. The music was catchy and worked for every character, and there scene.

My Rating:
A Solid 7.5

I don't particularly watch anime but Space Dandy was definitely good.

I saw all the episodes when they aired on Adult Swim. Wow, was that really in 2014? How time flies.

That show was a mayor trip and I loved it so much.

Space Dandy got me hooked on the first EP. He's known as the Japenese Elvis. Loved the whole series can't wait for season 3 in late 2018 or 2019 .
