Would this harness be good or bad for a German shepherd ?

It looks like a great one but make sure it fits cause German Sepherds are big dogs. Just look at sizes of the brand and look at reviews on Amazon it's a great site for explaining the product!

I have two German Shepherds and way back when they were puppies I took them in for training. They had a HUGE emphasis on not using chest harnesses like this because it's easier for the dog to pull and therefore harder to train. We were instructed to use normal chain choker style collars because it's easier to control the dog and correct bad behavior as you're supposed to do a quick jolt on the leash to grab their attention. The chest harness is difficult to do that with.

My dogs are 3 years old now, I still use a normal chain collar but they are trained and very good with the "heel" command. Past that they aren't trained much so when we go on walks I make them heel until we get out of the neighborhood then they go off leash and when I say "too far" they come back to me.
