So I have a new gaming PC, I want to get it to it's full potential.
It has a i7 8700k cpu and 16gb RAM. Says it can reach 4.70Ghz but currently on 3.70GHz

I have the intel tuning utility for the cpu, what do I do from here? Run benchmarks? Don't want to cause any damage but would love a boost.
Any help would be great

Looking at your specs it looks like you got a pre built?
The *** Extreme OC *** listed makes me believe it was OC'd by CyberPower or whoever you got it from. The 8700k will turbo up to 4.7 on its own (assuming theres thermal headroom to reach that) but if it was manually OC'd turbo would be turned off.
Open up task manager and take a look at what the CPU frequency is.
Should look like this, with your clock speed boosting up to 4.7ghz under load

Oh damn you're right, says its on 4.60GHz
Guessing there isn't much else to give it a little boost as I just want to have my PC optimised as much as possible

For clarification -
That boost clock of 4.7Ghz will only boost to that speed on 1 or 2 cores. This is what Intel and AMD have both been doing to say that there boost speeds are high than the rivals.It's great if you have an intensive task using 1 core, but most of the time, this won't be the case.
In order to get 4.7Ghz boost on all cores, you'll have to dig into the BIOS and start overclocking. Let me know if you want to do this and I'll link you some guides and information.

If you was 100% honest do you think it would be worth it? Or would there be little difference ?
