was about to say to just wait a few more months to see what apple releases in september, but the 6s is a good choice

6S Plus is better than any other newer iPhone.

If you aren't getting the X which is the best of the class right now, then get the 8 as it is the most up to date behind the X and will stay updated and relevant the longest. I personally have the 8 Plus and love it. The bigger screen and larger battery make a difference to me and I think I personally am going to stick with the Plus models of the phone from now on.

I would get a 7 or 8, but you may want to consider the + versions. The camera is 10x better because of the portrait mode.

I honestly don't know if I have an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 8 because they are so similar, I've completely forgot.

I would go for the Iphone 8 if you can afford it

I would also say take the iPhone 8.

I have done the mistake to buy the iPhone 6 after the the iPhone 7 was released. Some apps are not anymore supported for 6. Sadly.

If I was you, I would buy the newer one.
