Probably not the best thing to be posting, but my Girlfriends dad died a week ago and he's got a password
on his phone, does anyone know if there is anyway possible too get the password off without wiping the phone/hard resetting it?

Any help is great! Thanks

Is the phone linked up to a google account?

If so, once you've locked the max attempts it may allow you to send a recovery email to the google account.

It may be linked to a Google account but I'm not sure the family would know as much as expected :/

Thanks for your help though, your the only one that replied

As far as I'm aware there is no way to bypass the password on the device. If I was you I would do some research on the device as it may have an SD card slot. If her dad used an SD card you may be able to retrieve some data from it.

Since it is android there is a good chance unless it is fairly old that there is google recovery. You can reset from there, without losing much. Other than that you basically would have to reset/proof of ownership for a possible retailer unlock.
