As the title suggests, it seems that the PlayStation Vita has been discontinued over in Spain and so is no longer available over there for purchase. This news comes from a tweet in which a person got in contact with PlayStation Spain's Twitter after having spent hours looking for somewhere to purchase one of the handheld consoles and coming up empty-handed:

There has been no word of the Vita being discontinued in other regions, but this may just be the start, and we may gradually begin to see it pulled from other regions over the course of the remaining year, granted it will no doubt remain alive in its Japanese homeland. I don't think there will be another handheld console from Sony simply due to the dwindling sales for the Vita, and the rapid increase in mobile gaming and the ever-improving specifications of mobile devices providing a strong, constantly evolving platform for on-the-go gaming.
