cRenture wrote You might need to update the drivers in computer to support your new wifi adapter. Driver Booster 5 software can help you out, you'll need to download a free version first though if you don't wanna buy it... You can find professional activation keys on google and youtube.

Do not use third party driver software. Windows update automatically detects and installs drivers and the manufacturer posts all drivers on their website.

Doesn't driver booster automatically help identify the manufactors of certain drivers on different computer models and help install them so you don't have to visit the official website to download and install all those drivers manually?

In case you missed the first part of my post, Windows does this automatically.

No, I think i read it correctly. The first part was "Do not use third party driver software." the second part is where you said windows does it automatically. But in case you didn't already know, only the latest verson of windows os does update drivers automatically if the windows updater works as it supposed too, which i can't know so i told him what i do know will help. Sorry to get you so worked up for me trying to help this guy. Maby you should've answered the post before i did.

Windows Update in 7 and 8 both do this. If I plug in a new USB WiFi adapter, even 7 will get the correct driver. The difference with 10 is that instead of marking drivers as "optional" in Windows update, 10 will automatically install them and even overwrite them unless a setting is changed.

Third party update software has NEVER provided ANY value to the consumer.

Ok, I guess we will just have to agree to dissagree. We both had our different experience and advantages with tools and software we use for whatever reason, obviously. - Have a good day.

This is why I'm posting. Registry cleaners, "optimizers," and driver updaters have a NEGATIVE effect on performance and crappy companies like IOBit charge for them. They are taking advantage of people like you who don't understand how computers work. It's not your fault that you think this is good software, but I'm not OK with you spreading this misinformation.
