So some of you know I drive a piece of shit. I drive a 2000 Toyota Camry. Runs fine and nothing is wrong with it aside from a slight issue with the muffler.

I have been wanting to get a new car for awhile and I'm not sure if it's the right move or not. I make a little over 800 a month (I'm 19).

Obviously I can't afford anything crazy but I'd like to get a car that is nice to me and doesn't make me hate driving.

What do you think I should do? My dad said I should definitely be able to take on a car payment on top of my monthly insurance. The thing is I just don't know what kind of car I would want to get.

All opinions are welcome, thanks to those who assist me.

I would have to say a ford focus or a civic..

both are somewhat cheap and are good on gas.

IMO you should keep the camry, those engines hold. Stack up in your bank account bro, Later on in life when you make way more you'll have more saved up to purchase a car with and still be comfortable. Just save it and do maintenance on the camry.

Both of these have crazy high insurance, bad idea

A focus is a clunker, civics depending on the year can be as well

So if you're looking for some sporty, fun to drive, gets decent gas mileage, etc. Go for a golf tdi, they were made up to 2015 in the US, i have the a jetta tdi, and mpg is very good. Also aftermarket parts are there. I feel like youwould enjoy it and aye its a turbo diesel mannnnn lol

Keep in mind that when you finance a vehicle most finance institutions will make you carry full coverage on the vehicle. Full coverage on my 2006 F-250 is $213/mo and my payment was like $220. I ended up just paying the truck off so I could drop some insurance but I haven't dropped any insurance yet.

When you finance a car you have to have full coverage. Full coverage for my GTI is a bit over $300 a month, my payments are around $220 a month. Keep that in mind if you go for something "sporty". On the other hand, they're great cars and I'd recommend a newer golf or a newer focus. Been looking at the Focus RS myself but that's a legit sports car so I would if I were you. The base model focus of golf would be good for you though.

Both of these are true. I pay about 300 a month for my new truck.. Insurance is about 200 I could be wrong on that one. But new cars and financing are gonna be a little pricy at first. If you drop a down payment on the vehicle and maybe try talking down the price could get you a little better price. The interest rate would be a bi**h as well... Do you plan to go to a dealership or buy full off of someone?
