I built my computer yesterday and everything seems to be plugged up correctly. It boots up but there's no image on the monitor. I've tried to remove the gpu and plug the monitor directly into the motherboard, but still no signal.

I've done a crap of research and came up dry and am out ideas.

Also another issue I'm confused about isn't case fans aren't spinning, but my cpu cooler is.

Again, I've tried to research my issues, but no luck.

If you need to know my specs:

I7 8700
Asus Tuf z370 plus gaming
Corsair vengeance 16gb
MSI GTX 970
Evga supernova G3 750

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is your monitor plugged in? Is it on the correct channel?

You're going to want to take pretty much everything you can out of the system. Take the CPU, CPU cooler, one stick of RAM, put it all in the motherboard. You'll need to use CPU and Mobo power from PSU, then short the PWR and GND prongs on the front panel header. If all is good and the system boots to post, add the other stick of RAM, then GPU.

If the system seems fine, then monitor has to be the issue, so you'll also want to try the monitor with something else, a console or another system, anything. Alternatively, try any other monitor/TV with your system to see if your system displays on the other monitor.

How do I short the PWR and GND? Also how will I know if it boots to post?

Your system will POST when you turn it on, you need to be able to see what's happening to know if it POSTs properly though.

Did you remove as much as you could, apart from CPU, cooler, and one stick of RAM? You need to take it back to basics to find out what the issue actually is.

First thing I'd do is test the monitor on something else. If that works, test your system as is on another TV/Monitor. If you get no display on another monitor, you know their is an issue with the system that you'll need to troubleshoot. So, make sure the PC is actually the problem first lol.

Yes I removed everything, but the cpu, cooler and one stick of RAM. I tried other monitors too.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!! This is so frustrating!

Try it with the other stick of RAM now. If you're still getting nothing, the CPU, motherboard, or RAM has to be the issue. Maybe PSU, but that is less likely.

Also had a similar problem once. Try putting a new cmos battery on the motherboard. Dont know why but that fixed it for me last time.
