Went for AC: Origins. If I could vote two, would've been PUBG too. AC is incredible.

This year in gaming hasn't been the best in taste for me but overall in this selection I would have to go with Resident Evil 7. The games story was tremendous, starting from the beginning I was just pulled in with the dialog and where the game was set. Being played as Ethan and trying to find his founded dead wife "Mia" was a amazing. It was also thrilling to figure out clues and the background stories of each member in the Baker family. I was disappointed though to hear they had a dog in the game but in the final cut they left him out. The gameplay on the other hand was great with none stop jump scares, enemies popping from the walls, ground, mostly anywhere a gewy monster can hide (but dont get me wrong, it kind of got repetitive near the end where it was just like "great, another monster I need to kill") Each boss fight was a cliff hanger in the end, most of the time though I would also run out of ammo and start running around destroying crates or scavenging every locker just to find those extra bullets.

I never got time to play on the harder difficulties so I cant really say how that went but on normal difficulty and just a casual run, it was up my alley and would for sure buy the sequel in the long run.

Woah woah woah...

Where is Divinity Original Sin 2 as a nominee? That has got to be one of the biggest and best AAA titles to come out in many years. Most Aaa games release half finished half dlc games that aren't worth shit. Divinity is an amazing, expansive game.

The fact that Call of Duty is leading this vote saddens me.

I think it's more to do with the other games aren't really worth GOTY outright so people just vote for the game they play the most.

e.g. Destiny 2 was a huge disappointment, hence why they are already selling it at half the launch price; the end-game is non-existent and even the first expansion does not really do much to help extend it and give players something worth returning to the game. 2017 was a pretty disappointing year in terms of gaming to be quite honest.

With the 'game development cycle', 2018 should be quite an interesting year so fingers crossed.
