Well, you really should have your HDD partitioned so that your OS is separate from everything else on the HDD. That way you could just format the OS partition and not lose anything on the rest of the HDD.

Assuming you don't have it partitioned, what I'd do is just move everything from the HDD you need/want to keep to your other HDD, or an external drive, format the HDD with your OS on it, re-install OS from scratch on the SSD and then transfer everything back over to the HDD that the OS was on.

Yeah I dont think I partitioned the HDD like that, also slight problem, I dont have the windows 7 disc/code anymore... Any suggestions on where I go from here (Yeah I know im stuck in a pretty deep hole here.)

I have windows 10 on my laptop and I hate it if im honest and I missed my upgrade chance with my PC, just a few more questions.

1. Suggestions on what SSD I get? (Space, Brand etc.)
2. Could you possibly link me a guide/video for the Win7 ISO method?
3. Where can I find the right ISO for my Win7 version?
4. Wont I have to reinstall all my programs too? e.g Photoshop, Steam etc.

You didn't miss your upgrade chance, you can just use Win10 for free. Also I really don't understand what there is to hate about Win10? It's a perfectly good OS, especially if you're using your system for games.

Depends on budget, currency, etc. 850 EVO or MX300 are my go to's, or BX300/SL308 for cheaper options.

If they're on the HDD you format, then yes.

I thought I missed my chance? I just never liked Windows 10 anyways, the way it was working, interface and nice just some features that really put me off.

I meant making a bootable USB and using it to install windows.

Not really. I mean, for the free upgrade from an older Windows version sort of, but you can install Win10 and use it for free anyway so you didn't miss a chance to use Win10.

It works fine? It's basically a more modern version of Win7, it's like Win7 with some of the better bits of Win8.1 added lmao. I'm not sure what you mean by features that put you off. Obviously use Win7 if that's what you want, but there's nothing wrong with Win10 and it really is the OS you should be using for a gaming system, unless you have some weird niche requirements, like people who play retro games obviously aren't gonna run Win10 lol.

Download Rufus or Win2USB and the Win7 ISO. From there, it's super straight forward. I'd be super surprised if you can't figure it out as soon as you open the program but if you're having any issues with it, come back here and we can help you out.
