Just wondering everyone opinion on the NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem. Please don't argue and respect everyone's opinion because having different views is what makes us unique.

Personally, I don't think they should be making a message using the anthem as a platform. Also, I think politics should remain out of football because that's not what people turn it on for. It's a song that shows respect for the men and women that have fought and died for our freedom. Of course, under the first amendment they have the right to do that, but I just think its wrong in my views because the reason they can make millions of dollars is due to the veterans.

1. Keeping politics out of sports would be for the best - in the premier league (UK football) multiple players have received fines for any show politics.
2. They can do as they wish (sit, stand, do a dance) since they have freedom of expression as long as it doesn't infringe others.
3. They are bending the knee which is a universal show of submission or respect so I am unsure why people think its a good way to show protest.
4. Players should then not be called white supremacy advocats for standing for the national anthem either.

Side note: The US seem to be in love with labelling people Nazi's/ White supremacy advocats where as in Europe the buzzword seems to Islamaphobe.

Taking a knee pretty much means you don't fully respect the anthem/and or country, atleast from my interpretation. You have to understand the NFL is being used as a platform, essentially, to try to make the country aware that there's serious problems with it.

I agree with what you are saying here. That is how I think about it as well.

I think everyone is making more of a deal out of it than it needs to be. I say just let them do what they want.

I mean I thinks it's disrespectful to America , just think who pays these football players "America"

Why would you Neal when they pay respects to people who layed down an died for us what is with people and not being racist what so ever but 90% or them is black an you mean to tell me it hurts your pride or ego to hold your hand on your heart for 45 seconds to a minute to show respect for those who died !!

Still confused on why you would Neal for the anthem

What you just said is why they kneel lmao, discrimination in the US is real and not sure if people are delusional but just because you don't pay full respect to those who died doesn't mean you don't care about them. Not like anything will get done in the US with nobody actually doing something about it and if this is what needs to happen then so be it. It's not anything related to "pride or ego", what do you mean? You said it yourself. A good majority of the league is black, and there's tons of cases where they've been discriminated because they're black and even recently it's occurred to a pretty well known player if you're into the NFL.

America as people might pay their salaries, but money doesn't mean shit when stuff like this is going on.

Yea, I fully support it. Whether it is because they are protesting, they are doing it for solidarity, or if they just don't want to stand, I don't care. You do you. I'm not ok with forced nationalism/patriotism.

This is the real answer.

Honestly, Trump made the comment on the spur of the moment
to appeal to his core cult like following that have an extreme sense of pride and nationalism at a rally. I don't even think he realized how big of a deal it would become.
