The tags where probably banned from being reported and people were forced to change their gamertags.

It will throw this for entries that contain profanity. Best way to check if names are taken is to try friend the gamertag

That's because it's a gamertag that Xbox Live has blocked from anyone getting it, an example is the Gt Jesus

To start with you need to check all possible combinations of the Gamertag, by this I mean spaced out versions.

Meaning if the Gamertag 'Hello' doesn't show up as taken it usually means that a spaced version exists.

But in some cases, the Gamertags are blocked, like the Gamertag God/Jesus. I can understand them being blocked but some tags like 'Complex' I can't understand.

Also, it could mean that the gamertag is registered on someone elses console, for example, my friend wanted the name "Tbd" but a friend before already tried it and it wasn't taken, but the other friend was getting a already taken prompt.

Then my friend trys it after I search & see it's unclaimed.THEY CANNOT GET IT as there's a timer on the gamertag for me to snag it..

so when someone searches for Example HelloDonger69 - that gamertag is locked to their email for so long then it's reset. so others cannot attempt to get it.

Edit: the gamertag could be banned, or blocked due to previous glitches where you'd get a name that was taking by taking it with spaces.

Or, someone could be turboing the name so others cannot get it.

If you truly think it's not taken, Contact Support they'll help you get the tag.

I tried to contact xbox support. They basically told me there is nothing they can do. Typical support lol.
