I am currently on a monthly contract with the iphone 6 (since the start of this year) and so I still have another year or so to pay for my contract however I was wondering if there is anyway I could possibly upgrade to the iphone X when it releases? If not what would be the cheapest way to go about getting the iphone X?

I am with O2 if that is any relevance,

Thanks all!

If it's a monthly contract that most likely means you can cancel with a month in advance thus allowing you to get another contract. If you call them up to cancel they may also offer you a good deal on the Iphone X if you make it clear that's the reason why you're leaving.

Wouldn't you also need to pay the exit fee as to leaving the contract.

Not sure if he means the phone is on contract or the sim as if it's just the sim he will just have to pay the fee for the current month however if it's the iPhone 6 he's paying monthly for he probably will be charged a fee based on how much you've already paid.

I know some companies offer some iPhone upgrade deal which allows you to upgrade to the newest iPhone as long as you have at least half of the phone paid off. Your best bet would be to call up your provider and ask them if they have any upgrade deals for that.

I work in Telstra's head office in Adelaide. What we do, is if a customer is wanting a new mobile but is locked into contract, we will let them recontract to a new plan with a new device, however we make them pay out the DPC (Device payment contract) which is just paying out the rest of the phone.

If you've bought your own phone and you're just paying for the plan, we allow you to upgrade however we charge you ETC's (Early Termination Charges) that apply from your old contract.

You can finance the upgrade through the Apple upgrade program.

Depends on the company~ If you've got T-Mobile I know you can get out without a fee. AT&T however, you'll need to pay the exit fee and remaining balance first.
