Firstly I want to apologize if this in the wrong prefix I couldn't find an appropriate place to post this. Anyways I received a text through Imessage saying I had been added to a groupme chat when I've never even downloaded this app. Curious how I got on there though I ended up downloading it and went through the sign up process and even had to send a verification text so unsure how i got added in the first place. Went into the chat to see what it was all about and they acted like they knew me (even had a different username then the one I signed up with). So guess my question is if anyone else has experienced something like this before and how I can go about removing my number. I tried researching this but couldn't find anyone else with a similar problem. Guess I'm confused more then anything since I've never used or really heard of this app before and my number was somehow tied to it without verification.

I've never heard of this app before so I don't know how it works, but there are some apps/sites that don't require you to verify the email/phone number so it's possible that someone just used your number without having to verify it. Your best bet to getting the account deleted would be to contact their support (if they have one) and telling them about the situation.

Ok thanks might have to do that then. This app does require a verification text that has to be sent from your phone though so that was my biggest concern on how someone else had verified it already

Maybe a family member/friend did it as a little troll.
