I just bought an iPad off my friend, he said he's working but it was out of charge at the time so I just bought it and then went home to charge it, it's factory reset and everything but as I proceed through the steps it asks for the previous owners ID, which isn't him as he's obviously bought it off another friend he said. It won't let me do anything until I enter their email and password? Is there any way I can go around this so I can actually use it or?

Theres a bypass with a dns server but you can't get past that unless you talk to apple. I tried it before :/

So nothing I can do? It was a good offer that's why I took it but the fact I need this Apple ID is shit, I've tried the whole connect to iTunes and that doesn't work it still asks for it, literally no possible way I can do it?

The iPad could have had Find My iPhone/iPad enabled which is a feature of iCloud. Usually when you sell it you disable it so the next person would have no issues. Most likely the iPad could have been stolen before? So your friend probably purchased it cheap thus sold it cheap.

As the above user said, you can search the DNS bypass via Google or maybe Apple can or can't help....

It seems like this device is activation locked to another person's iCloud Account.

You can follow this article about Turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock:

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

There are only a couple of things that you can do in this situation:

1. Have the person who knows the log in credentials log in for you and remove the Find My iPhone from the device in Settings.

2. Have the previous owner log into [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (Which can only be accessed from a labtop or desktop) and remove the device from Find My iPhone on the website.

or

If they use the Find My iPhone app on an iOS device they can remove the device from the account that way too.

3. Gain access to the Proof of Purchase for the device and contact AppleCare with the documentation ready to submit for review.

Here is where you can find the number to AppleCare Support for your region:

Sorry to hear this happened, hope this helps.
