126GB of memory is a little low for video editing you will need to switch that out.

Like what boss man said above. It would be perfect for what you want though, just storage would be an issue. I mean this could be fixed with external hard drives, and would probably be the best way round it imo.

If you're set on apple then if you were to get this one i would add another 8gb stick of ram and see if the included ssd is in m.2 form factor, if so then you should have an empty 2.5 inch drive bay to add another drive for mass storage, i could be wrong and correct me if i am, but that's how most laptops i've seen are. Also if you're not stuck on mac then let me know and i'll do some looking around to see if there are some good deals on mid range laptops.

for school work yes.
but for video editing no.
you need probably at least 3ghz for processing, a TB of storage, and like 8gb or more of memory.
video demands a lot of resources.

Processor speed does not equal a good processor, the quality and architecture does, storage depends his uses and needs, but he will need more then 128gb of it, also he really only needs 8gb of ram to be comfortable in video editing. You only need more in cases of heavy content creation.

No third-party SSDs are compatible. You're looking at about 500$ for a TB. In this situation, it would be best just to use an external hard drive. Wait no, it would be best not to get this laptop at all. If you really want a Mac, go with an older model because Apple seems like they are starting to have a mind set of less it better. The only thing that really intrigues me is that it has 10 hours of battery life.

If you want to stay with the hipster, coffee drinker style of computer, I would recommend this one.
The ram has a price that is reasonable to upgrade.

You can still get way better computer specs from cheaper computers that don't have an apple logo on them.
