Hi I want you to introduce my fix for performance issues in NFS Rivals.
It is addressed mostly to owners of the original game on Origin.

Well, the culprit of heavy frame drops is original binary.
It causes massive slow downs, and understates performance of low or even medium-end computers.

The solution is one. Just apply a crack. Yes. Thats it.
There are two releases on the net. 3DM and Reloaded. Ill describe differences between them.

3DM is more stable than RLD. If you apply SweetFX, it will never cause any stops of the game during gameplay (timer is on, and all game objects stuck, then SweetFX is a main culprit). The one downside is, it performs a little slower than RLD binary. It may be noticed especially when we save every possible FPS for 60 FPS unlock [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (achieving 50 is minimum required to not cause slow downs) and during using Razer Game Booster, which I also recommend for this poorly optimized game. It may be also easily applied just by overwrite of the .exe and typing in nfs.3dm.ini your UserID and SaveID from C:\Users\User\Documents\Ghost Games\Need for Speed(TM) Rivals\settings\xxxxxxx.sav if you already played in Rivals on original Origin version. It will preserve all your progress, and make it possible to sync in Origin cloud in case of attempts of playing multiplayer on original binary, which I recommend to make backup before overwriting. 3DM not requires any third party patch like Reloaded.

If you just place RLD v1.3 (v1.4.0.0) crack on recent updated Origin version, application wont launch. You need to download their 1.3 update installer, run it, and then apply crack, and it will work, but as I said, faster. Maybe it will be worth of it. Not especially only in case if you dont use SweetFX. This freezes can be avoid by just restart of computer, closing running apps in background, or making sure you have at least 4GB RAM; then it may occur rather rare, or even disappear. The last downside of Reloaded binary is graphic quality. Yes.

3DM just looks better. Better contrast, less over bright, clearer textures from distance. I cant explain it. Or only by worse performance. So thats your call which one youll use. Personally on R9 270/78xx and old slightly OCed Quad Core I use 3DM, but I encountering slow downs during long gameplays in some demanding moments, such like rapid changes of weather, like rain. But usually its not that bad. I enjoy that graphics. Personally I noticed that medium reflexion detail setting looks better for me than ultra. Thats weird, but thats what I noticed. Nothing similar with other options, OK, maybe except effect detail while I dont really enjoy such amounts of leaves flying around, so once I remember when I set it to medium.

So, Rivals because of just poor optimization, and few graphic weaknesses (which can be noticeably enhanced by SweetFX and proper graphic settings) is very underestimated game. It may look great, perform nice and fast on medium-end computers, perhaps on even 60 FPS, so it completely changes the perception of gameplay. Rivals is beautiful, and so far, even looks better than ongoing Payback. And its a little bit chaotic gameplay can be easier engulfed with better performance fix, which I wanted you to show. Thanks for reading.

If you want substitute to AA unavailability in game options, or just even enhance game graphics more, check this out: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

PS. If you want to play especially in 60FPS, despite of lower graphics, check Ragnos1997 optimization kit:

If you want to try out another fix for performance, but for 30FPS users with really low end computers, try this command:
-GameTime.MaxSimFps 18 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 18+

PS2. I also encountered on fix with FPS issues pointing that disabling V-Sync with D3DOverrider also helps on FPS in this game. It was also recommended to turn on triple buffering in graphic control panel.
