With the summer of Legendary Pokemon quickly coming to a close, Pokemon Go Trainers are curious about whats next when it comes to the epic creatures. With Mewtwo, Mew, Ho-Oh, Celebi, and the Legendary dogs still waiting to be seen in the game, trainers hope the remaining Pokemon will make their way into the current release system of raid battles, and it seems a recent letter from Niantic has reignited speculation it will be sooner rather than later.

Niantic sent out the email (via Pokemon Go Hub) to players on August 10th, informing them of the success of Japans Pokemon Go Park event currently underway. In true Pokemon Go fashion, the email also highlights other events that have already come and gone, including the presence of Articuno and Moltres in level-five raids. However, its the final line that has made the community speculate that more Legendary Pokemon are coming soon. Team up with your fellow Trainers and line up your Pokemon carefully when battling these extremely powerful and rare Legendary Pokemon, the email read. Good luck, Trainer. Be prepared for more legendary adventures!

Of course, the word legendary sparks the immediate thought that Niantic is subtly teasing more of the powerful Pokemon. While its guaranteed more Legendaries will make their way into the game, its difficult to say that this is, for sure, a purposeful hint. On the one hand, Niantic has already been teasing the upcoming August 14th event in Japan, Pokemon Go Stadium, as a place for new content, which will probably be the introduction of Ho-Oh due to the timing of Zapdos leaving raids the same day. On the other, Niantic is careful with its wording, and whenever referencing actual Legendary Pokemon, it follows the series format of capitalizing the word, as seen elsewhere the email in question. However, the final line about legendary adventures has the word in lower case, which probably means it was a convenient and fun play on words for the topicnot a sneaky tease of anything specific.

A more interesting question is how Niantic will introduce the remaining Legendaries from the first two generations. They could stick with the level-five raid system, or Niantic could easily change up the current format to more closely follow the core game series. For example, the three Legendary dogs from the Gold and Silver eraEntei, Raikou, and Suicunehad to be tracked down several times by players, as they would roam the region to escape capture. As Niantic already has region-exclusive Pokemon in place, such as Kanghaskhan in Australia and Tauros in the U.S., having the three dogs move from region to region over time could be an interesting way to keep true to the series lore, while also avoiding making raids stale too quickly. However, fans will ultimately have to wait until the Pokmon Go Stadium event to see if anything new pops up.
