They don't give out beta codes on the first invite

The first email you receive will be one where you register your interest to play the beta by pressing a link, then about 1-2 weeks later you receive a further email with the beta code

I didn't receive any email this time unfortunately

Incorrect. Its a new system this year. No registration, codes are sent out with the invite. But they are still tied to the accounts.
