Broke my iPhone 6s screen a while ago, blacks bars etc.

Not really feeling spending upwards of £160 to get a screen fixed.

Anyone know if its easy enough to do and where to get a reasonable priced kit to do it?

Honestly, no. The 7's are harder to fix because of the 3d technology.

You can go here, buy a replacement [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and make sure you get one with all the parts already installed. They're a bitch to switch from one screen to the next.

Don't know where you are going to that is charging that much for a replacement, but i'm assuming the Apple store since that is an outrageous price. You should try going to some local replacement stores and checking if they charge you something a little more reasonable.

Screens are generally easy to fix so I wouldn't worry about it

Very easy repair can be done in 15 mins but you will need a heat gun or blow dryer for the 6S. Go to Mengtor.com for the part & buy a tool kit off ebay or amazon.

You absolutely don't need a heat gun.

I'd only recommend doing it yourself if you have broken/replacement phones to practice on first. Go to a local shop and they do it cheap i got a 6s screen fixed for 50 euro before i got my 7 plus. Apple store is robbery

It's a lot easier than you think. You can find kits to do it almost everywhere. Just watch a few YouTube tutorials and you'll be fine. I managed to fix my own so you can too
