The title says it all. It's only happened once but it freaked me the hell out because it happened at like 12 at night. I've searched on the official Xbox forums and there's no concrete answer from the staff or nothing of the sort. Has this ever happened to anybody?

My console is the Xbox One Halo 5 console and when it turns on, it does a sound like a machine from Halo turning on and I don't wanna be woken up by this at 3 in the morning because I'll throw it out the window.

Do you have your Xbox set to instant on or Energy-saving? In the Power mode & startup.

I am going to be real with you. You might have spooky ghosts. I recommend calling your local Ghostbusters.

I know sometimes the light comes on when it is off when it starts to do updates. (Assuming you have that feature turned on.) My Xbox was turning on like that before when my controller cable was messed up. When my controller would disconnect and reconnect when my Xbox was off, it would turn it on. My Xbox would be off, I'd bump the controller, and it would come on. Any controller issues? That would be my first guess.

I knew it was those damn ghosts. I've tried to keep them shut in my closet but every time someone opens the sliding door, one gets out.

I think it's on Energy-saving, last time I checked.

This, my screen comes up sometimes when it updates, might depend on if I left my tv on or not not sure only happened once.

Also do you have anyone on your wifi that might have the Xbox app you can turn Xboxs on and off if their are on the same wifi as the phone

Well, I have the Xbox app on my phone but at the time, I wasn't even on it.

I'm going with Weeb's theory: it was spooky ghosts.
