Yachty wrote I thought the same back in school, all that stuff in maths they teach you, unless you're becoming either a maths teacher or an architect, you will never use in your life.

Instead I think they should teach more life lessons like my school had Business Studies, it was quite limited but still one of the most vital lessons I took as I was taught a lot about being your own boss and all about economy/taxes which would all help with going into jobs, and progressing with your own life.

It may all seem pointless learning but without it all, you will have slim chances of doing something you love in life. People take their education for granted, it is probably one of the most important things you will do in your life.

The secondary school I went to never really taught anything impotant apart from stuff they wanted us to know, the world is under control from the goverment within school, it makes people deluded,

With a lot of schools not teaching any life lessons, most students of this generation are going to be clueless when going into the world alone.

No they aren't, most things are done literally automatically. Once you've done your education you can choose a subject and specialise in it.

Never understood why people moan about random shit like this. If you're so concerned, be proactive, google it, find out for yourself. Schools and Colleges and Universities are not about to wipe your arse for ya

I feel that university is broad and trivial bullshit that in many industries has little to no application to the field.

Take it from someone with a highschool education working in a job populated by late 20 something's with masters degrees.

In most professional industries bar medecine, engineering and most of tech the overwhelming majority of HR recruiters would agree.

How can anyone say it's a schools job to teach you how to pay a mortgage, rent, bills etc... that's a life lesson that your parents should assist you with. Not school.

Education is the most important time of your life, if you mess it up you will mess your life up. It doesn't mean you have to like it though. I spent the whole of my school and college years hating education, but when I started university last year I realised how thankful I was for the education I received. Teachers will never go out of their way just to make your life hard, I can assure you 99% of teachers want to do nothing but help you - it'll probably be just you that's a bit of a prick so they give you a taste of their own medicine.

They teach you what the books tell them too. It depends on whether or not the field you go into, if it will be useful or not.
