I don't know too much about computers and what is a better value, but you could message 13 since he knows almost everything about computers. He would be your best bet to get a qualified answer!

Best of luck

Well they are two completely different systems...
The mac book pro is aimed towards media/development whereas the Asus computer is aimed towards general use / gaming.

The mac book has no dedicated graphics card meaning gaming is almost impossible whereas both have a relatively similar cpu (assuming you mean the lower end mac book)

Either way, if you were willing to drop ~£1300 on a new mac book I wouldn't bother buying your friends pc because it's not going to hold up with a lot of games.

That's not what I said at all....

The macbook is not meant for gaming. It will perform terribly. The ROG G20 won't perform amazingly but will handle a few games.

If you want to spend £1300 on a new macbook then you might as well put that money towards a better gaming PC if that's what you want to buy; don't buy your friends one.

The reason why i was gonna buy his because hes giving me a really good price for it only $380 and i'd rather have money left over. but he also said that it can run gta 5 arma 2, day z, g mod, battlefield 4 and more.

Im not trying to like game my ass off with this nice ass computer i was just wondering is it a good computer too just edit videos and play a game like H1Z1

It won't be running games like ARMA/DayZ/Battlefield 4 very well...

Gmod is simple to run and it will be fine. With specs like that ROG machine has, you would be playing on low-medium settings for most games.

If you don't want to spend much money then get your friends one, otherwise you should look into other options.

Get the ROG machine, it is $800 retail, and will edit/game much better then the macbook, but will run on med/low since the GPU in it is fairly old at this point as well. Either or you could just head over to the PC Building Forums, and answer these

Budget(currency)?
aesthetics?
Main use?
What editing software will you play?
What are your top three games you will play?
Do you need a keyboard or a mouse?
Do you need a monitor? (if not what model do you have)
