So I start my job soon and I wanted to know if anybody had any tips for me? How to function after working all day and good sleep times for waking up around 5 or 6 am. How to be able to work 5 or 6 days a week. It's my first job so I just want to be ready for what's in store.

I've never had a shift like that so I can't help on that end but for your first
day you're going to be nervous so just try to hold all that in and act as
much you as you can.

Don't try to make things overly perfect because trust me there is a way to slack and chill
at all jobs. So with that on mind just get what needs to be done, done and find ur niche in the
job.

thanks for the reply. That information is pretty helpful. I know you don't have to go to work and break your neck everyday if you don't have to. Hopefully this all goes well.

Bro I don't know what you're like, but sleep is important. You'll be wanting a lot of early nights.
I'd say try be in bed and relaxed before 9.

Otherwise you'll just feel like shit at work.

I start work at quarter 8 and I'm always shattered.
But that's because I like my sleep

Go to bed at I'd say 9pm. You will feel much better waking up early in the morning after a good nights rest.
If you have trouble sleeping try taking some NightQuil or ZzzQuil before bed.
Good luck with the new job man, sure you'll do great!

This depends on the job and what type of person you are.

I'm a quiet person and I work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week sitting at a desk.
The best way for me to work is to put a playlist on with my headphones in and block out all of the distractions going on around me.

If you're not introverted and have to engage with other people to make the time pass then make sure that you don't get so lost in conversation that you forget about your job. People where I work tend to do this a lot without realizing it and I'm surprised that some of them haven't been fired because of it.

Don't do the bare minimum of what you have to do. Do more than what half of the other people do.
As long as you keep yourself in the top half of useful employees you're not going to be culled.

Don't expect to have much of a social life at any time other than the weekends. But working all of the time gives you the money to do pretty much whatever you want at the weekends, so it's worth it.

As for sleep, I tend to turn in at around 12 and I manage to get through the day productively.
You just need to find the right amount of time for your own body and the best way to do that is by trial and error.

Remember that you're green & that your "best judgement" isn't worth shit. Keep your cards close and be aware of what you're doing.Think of what you say before you say it and if you ever don't know what you're doing do not make assumptions and ask how to do it or leave it be.

If you follow the above you should be fine as long as you're a smart kid.
