I'm just gonna make this thread because I see these questions everywhere.

What is the difference between a VAC ban and a Game ban?
Well VAC stands for Valve Anti Cheat, yes most people know this but what most people think is you can only get a VAC cheating/hacking on Valve games. False, you are playing through steam, steam is essentially partnered with Valve. If Valve detected any kind of external connection to and games (mainly multiplayer) it will VAC you. Game bans on the other hand it is given by the "game creator" well that's what steam says, if you play CS:GO you know that there is overwatch where other players can watch you play then ban you. This is called an overwatch ban and is put on your steam account as a game ban. But there are some games that run separately from valve, like GTA you can get banned in that game and nothing shows on your profile. The game DayZ used to be the same but was recently changed and now game bans and VACs are given out from this game.

Trade Banned?
That's pretty obvious. You scammed, You Banned.

Don't expect one of these either.

Steam rarely gives those out and if they do its after weeks of making sure.

DayZ is prottected by BattleEye though? Like I said Steam and Valve are a partner.

Changed color of font due to complaining in the reply threads.

Word of advice to everyone, don't hack games that have VAC. It's not worth it.

Another word of advice:
Dont use black text on a blackish-grey colored forum.
Its barely readable and just is awful

Or you could just use light & clear theme. Whatever floats your boat.

I agree with what you said, but that is not what Shiv did. I do not understand where this "blackish-grey" color came from.

To me it is just black text on a off-white background. Are you colorblind?

This is a screenshot of what shiv said. And that is very easy to read.

Get your eyes checked out by an eye care professional.

some people prefer to use the dark theme as it is easier on their eyes. Wish people didn't have to try and be unique and use random colours. Some bloke uses a dark blue and the only way to read it is if I highlight it.
