i made the switch fully about 3 years ago being clueless as to how to build a pc and i didnt know whats good lol. So heres the original build i bought at the time.
gigabyte h81m motherboard
500w rock soul psu
i5 4690k(almost the only reason i bought it) still a good processor to this day.
gtx 750 1gb zotac model(complete ass they revised the card and made them 2gb cards)
toshiba 5600 rpm 1tb hdd
lg optical disc drive
and no **** fans what so ever in it besides the stock cpu cooler and the gpu fans
i spent about $950 on this build and it wasnt worth it in anyway and now im trying to rebuild my pc completely to make it up to par or decent.

Ive put a new mobo RAM cpu cooler gpu into it and working my way up. moral of the story dont buy from bestbuy EVER!!! even if its a "gaming pc" cause there still ass. after i learned a bit more about pcs i rebuilt my bestbuy pc on pcpartpicker.com and my build was only about $500 at the time and i had spent $950. This wasnt my choice though i was 16 and it was a birthday gift because i had been saying how i wanted to BUILD my pc but my parents thought i was some sort of dumbass and that it took a rocket scientist to build one. WRONG a monkey with a screwdriver can build a pc. But imo wait for 13 to make a comment with a build. youll probably want to give a price range too. pc gaming is expensive af or can be expensive but its all worth it.

sorry for quoting u again but atleast get a i5 6600k or higher and atleast get a gtx 1060 6gb or higher if you want to be future proofed for a little bit. i just got the gtx 970 last year and i already want the 1070 since they doubled the vram on the 1070 and its 8gb.

Biggest tip ever - don't buy a prebuilt PC. You'll get ripped off and be paying tons more than what the PC would actually be worth

PC is so much better i was a console player my whole life. till about few months ago i decided to build a gaming PC. yes it will cost you alot more then just going to Walmart and getting a console. but it's so much better you have so much more you can do. also companies like steam have so many discounts every week on games it's crazy. you will never pay full price of a PC game.

Like said above don't buy a Pre-build PC your just going to pay for the name. i build mine for 1,000.
and run's any new games on high settings and some ultra

If you do switch. Build.
Even if you dont know how.
Literally guides and tutorials are everywhere.
All you may need to do that actually requires work is PSU estimates and how much power itll consume.

You could always use pcpartpicker tho

Not entirely true there are prebuilt pc's out there for example ADMI limited they have some of the best priced prebuilt PC's I have seen for value. I have built many pc's for myself family and friends and if you want a hassle free PC built for you then ADMI are brilliant I had my recent i7 6700k with a 1070 build from them and did a part price check and the only excess I paid was £20 and £3.60 delivery and to some beginners an extra 20 pound as a cost for the labour to put it together is a price worth paying.

But do not type "gaming pc" in to ebay for example you will get terrinle builds for extortionate prices.

If you don't want to build a PC and your in the U.K. I'd suggest looking at Gladiator PC. Great prices from what I have seen.
