So last time I told you guys to spend my money (asked you guys what car I should buy), we came to the consensus of the Ford Fusion, so I bought a 2013 Ford Fusion SE sport. Like 2-3 months have passed and I am NOT a car guy, it's just not working lol so it's time to hop back into a truck.

Option 1: 2008 F-350 Lariat 6.4L Powerstroke
This truck has 118k miles, at this price it does not come with the wheels pictured, they want $2k for those wheels and tires so it will come with stock wheels. I drove this truck today and it drives like any other diesel truck but it needs some work as it has excessive blow back from the oil. It's a common known issue with the 6.4L, I would need to spend about another $5,000 to completely emissions delete it to have a sound truck.

Option 2: 2011 F-150 Lariat 3.5L Ecoboost
This truck has 113k miles, has a lot more power (gassers usually do) than the '08 F-350, and no work will need to be done to this truck. This truck is super clean and is optioned out as a Platinum spec Lariat, the only difference between this truck and a Platinum trim level is this one doesn't have "PLATINUM" embroidered on the seats and doesn't have aluminum trim everywhere.

Option 3: 2017 Ram 2500 Tradesman 6.4L Hemi
This truck is brand new 0 miles, however it is a base model truck with no leather, back up cam, bed liner, etc. it's literally a bare bones truck but it's brand new. The 6.4 Hemi has a ton of power but sucks down a ton of gas. The Cummins will no be an option here as i do not trust a used Cummins and can't afford a new one.

With all of these trucks I am selling the car, so all of these trucks are configured in the crew cab version with a 6.5' bed. The trade off is that the F-350 has the 6.4L is a diesel and I want diesel (6.4 is a terrible engine that needs a ton of work though) and it will haul anything i need it to, the F-150 has a ton of options and will ride nicely while getting decent fuel economy for a truck, but the Ram 2500 is new, will do anything I ask it to, however it costs a lot more, has no options, and sucks gas like no tomorrow. No, Chevy and GMC are not even considered as their frames are coated pretty badly and for the most part I don't like the style. I also am not getting a Ford Raptor, however I would consider a Ram 2500 Powerwagon if one presents its self at a low enough price lol.

So none of that matters now lol, I ended up buying a 2006 F-250 King ranch 6.0L with the FX4 package. I uploaded pics that the dealer shows on the website in post #7 but they are terrible pictures so I'll upload some good ones in the morning!

Sorry, forgot to update you guys, been on the hunt and trucks have my full attention right now lol.

Anyway, I looked at the Ram 2500 as I feel that would be the "smartest" move to make, but I was not impressed at all. Interior quality wasn't too good, but it was comfy, I guess like how an 80's Cadillac feels if that makes sense. Other than that, the 5.7L just doesn't do too good pushing that big of a truck (the dealership with the 6.4L is 300 miles away and I wanted to drive one before I made that drive). Out of 6 local dealers, none of them had a 6.4L lol.

As far as the Ford went, that particular one is a cobbled piece of junk. This guy goes to the east coast, gets broken down rusty as hell trucks super cheap and zip ties them together (literally the throttle cable was a zip tie lol), and sells them here. NOPE. I did look at another 2010 6.4L though and it drove decent but I just didn't feel like it was anything special over a 6.0L besides the fact they're more expensive to fix, but the interior looks nicer.

They sold the F-150 I looked at, but I did look at a different one and that little 3.5L Ecoboost blew me away. Those thing haul some ass lol. I would love to find one semi-affordable, but they are few and far between unless you want a base model. I am looking at just buying a 2017 beer can F-150 with the 2.7L Ecoboost though as I can get one of those for $26k.

Just for giggles I looked at a 2007 Escalade EXT and those are cool trucks. It's got a tiny 5' or so bed, but you can take out the back glass and all of that to have a bigger bed. I would've bought it, but my issue is I pay $211/mo on full coverage for my 2013 Fusion, I'd be round $250/mo on a 2011-14 F-150, but the Escalade EXT was going to be $450/mo.

I would like to find a 6.7 Powerstroke but those are super expensive. Ever since my first truck I've always wanted a king ranch because that was top of the line for my year range of truck (97-03 F-150). Tomorrow I'm going to look at a 2006 F-250 6.0L king ranch. So far my only complaint is that it's white but I can change that easy enough.

So I ended up buying a 2006 F-250 King ranch 6.0L diesel!

All I'm waiting on is my dad to sign a couple papers to release my car (he's the co-signer), and I pick the truck up in the morning! Here are the pics the dealer shows on their website.

The two things that sold me on the truck were obviously the king ranch package (basically just saddle leather seats), and the running boards have diamond plate so they don't get beat up.

All in all, in 4 months I lost $6k on my car for the trade in lol, but I'm much happier in a truck.

Yeah it was a cool truck and if I couldn't work a deal on the 2006 I was going to go home with the 2008 today lol. I liked the color of the 2008 better, wasn't a big fan of the 6.4L but I've always wanted a king ranch ever since I bought my old F-150 so I hopped on the opportunity to buy one.
