Synopsis
Hey there Fancy Pants! Have you ever found yourself queuing up for your favourite interactive adventure, only to wish for something to fill the empty space while you're waiting? Well have WE got a deal for you! Introducing AdVenture Capitalist - the game you play while playing other, better games!

Aim/Objective
There is no real end to this game, as you can make infinite amounts of money and it will go on. There will probably be a point where you are bored of watching 10 green bars go forward and backward, but I'll let you decide when that is. You can also use Angel Investors and regular money to buy upgrades in the shop, which is pretty extensive (the most expensive upgrades go up to the Untrigintillion region (1 Million = 106, 1 Quinsexagintillion = 10198) So if you are looking to complete the game by purchasing all of the upgrades, then you will be playing for a fair while.

Gameplay
This game is very unique in the way that it kind of has no gameplay. You could compare this game to the infamous Cookie Clicker that puzzled the minds of those who could not comprehend why some had such a bizarre addiction to it. This game is like Cookie Clicker in the sense that you earn money by clicking on an inanimate object, but it also has another interesting side to it. Shown in this image is a screenshot of the game:

At first I thought that it was a pause menu of some sort, but then I was surprised to find out that this is the game screen. Going from top to bottom, column to column is the order in which you will upgrade your businesses. You simply click on the icon that represents the business, or the progress bar next to it. This will start the timer shown along with them to a time that differs depending on what business it is and how far it is upgraded. Once the timer runs out, a sum of money will be added to your total balance (we wish it was this easy in real life). This also depends on the business and the level it is upgraded to. As you progress, it will become tiring and tedious to constantly click on the business to generate income, so you can hire managers to do it automatically for you. These are expensive, but are one time costs and will help out a lot. You can also purchase upgrades that will increase the speed and output of the businesses. For every 25 levels you upgrade your business, the speed at which it generates money will increase. When you start making some serious dolla, Angel Investors will come forwards and buy shares from you. These will increase the revenue of the business, but you will have to restart to get this added bonus.

Graphics
The graphics in this game are very clean looking, it really suits the calm, smart look of this game. It is just the way that the tabs and sections that divide he game merge and blend in so nicely with each other that have that effect on the user that makes the game feel more professional and look smarter. The audio of this game is catchy and cheerful, something that complements the graphical design of the game very well. The song is repetitive, but it does not get to your head and annoy you as if you were listening to an actual song on repeat. Here are some screenshots of the different menus of the game:

I also like the way in which the upgrade amount tags transition between one-another, they are all different shapes and sizes which has a rugged/out of place effect that suits the rest of the graphics of the game very well:

Just everything about the graphics of this game in general please the player. The changing color of the buttons when you hover over them, the transitions and animations of the businesses, and just where the business icons do their own little animations. These type of graphics are being found in most never games now, technology is evolving but it is nice to see some games sticking with the roots of simple and smooth game design. As this is a 2D game with no moving avatars/sprites, no lighting or visual effects there is not much to talk about when it comes down to graphics, but for what it is and how simple the game is, the graphical interface and design are perfect.

Controls
As this game simply relies on the user clicking different buttons and for the most part doing nothing and watching the managers do it themselves, there are no real controls to this game.

Fun Facts
  • The most expensive upgrade is $2 Quinsexagintillion, which is 10198 which equals:

First off...
HOLY LINE BREAKS

Anyways, my friend Joe got me playing this game and I actually really enjoyed it even though it is simple. I played it until I had nothing left to buy and had ridiculous amounts of money. But, it was a good game overall. Good way to kill some hours.

Nice review on it as well!
