Gameplay

Real Basketball puts you in the eyes of a professional basketball player where you have to make free throws in order to get points. You can make these free throws by simply swiping up on your screen which makes it really fun to play. In this game you can customize your character to your preference. You can set custom skins for your player, ball, and jersey and can even change the court that you play on if you would like. Customizing these things though do cost a hefty amount of coins so you do have to grind in this game if you want a skin that you like. You can get coins (Known as MP) by either making an in app purchase or by unlocking them in multiplayer matches, tournaments, and more! In single player you can play tournament matches, arcade matches, time attack matches, single ball matches, all-star, and finally block matches. These can offer hours of fun if you really get into it and can unlock you many things. What I like about these modes is that they actually help you get better at the game as you play. Hitting swishes while playing will activate other modes while playing which can give you an advantage. These modes each have their own abilities to help gain more points for the player. For example the energy mode will give you two, three, or four times as many points while taking shots as long as you keep making shots. What I also really like about this game is the multiplayer feature that they have included for free. In multiplayer you can go up against one other player in a 1v1 free throw match. You can play on different courts, but in order to do that you will need to get enough coins to purchase it. Every multiplayer match lasts for a minute and losing matches will also make you lose coins that you will need in order to play. You can also rank up when winning matches which can unlock many skins for you. Shooting free throws and winning matches really makes you feel awesome and I definitely do enjoy it. Overall, this game can get a bit repetitive after a while, but with its many customizations and modes it is definitely a game you can play for hours.

Graphics

The graphics in this game are great and I really do enjoy the look of it. This game has 3d textures which look pretty good. In this game you can view the player in either third person or first person and it looks pretty nice. When making free throws your camera follows the ball into the net and it looks sweet. The characters do have a bit of detail in them, but they look very boxy and blurry. The courts are very well designed and look very nice whether shoot from any point of view. Getting swishes and causing a combo chain to occur looks awesome as the net begins to set on fire letting you know that you are doing well. The game runs very smooth even when playing on multiplayer which I like a lot. Animations are nice including when they show the combo symbols on the backboard. Overall the graphics look really well while playing this game, but I wish they did a better job with the look of the characters.

Controls

The controls in this game are actually pretty cool and makes this game really fun to play. In this game you have to shoot free throws in order to get points during a match. In order to shoot free throws you will have to swipe up on the screen. You can also fake other players while playing by swiping right first then up to shoot. Shooting can be very hard as it's always random. But, if you get it down you can shoot perfect free throws and collect tons of points. Swiping too hard will cause the ball to thrown at the backboard. You also have to aim your shot to where the net is because if you swipe anywhere the ball will be shot to that area. The amount of force you put into the shot can be determined by the small bar on the bottom left hand corner of the screen. The arrow is the amount of force you should use to make a perfect shot and going over or under that will make your shot worse. Overall the controls are pretty straight forward and can make the game even more fun once you begin to get better at shooting.
