Game Information:
Developers: Sony Online Entertainment
Publishers: Sony Online Entertainment
Release Date: 15th January, 2015
Platforms: Windows
Genre: MMO Survival, Post Apocalyptic

Synopsis:
Enter a world that has been overrun by zombies and fellow survivors since the H1Z1 virus outbreak. Fight for your life against the infected and against the brutality of others as you attempt to live and see another day. Every moment is borrowed time with one question to answer... Will you survive?

Gameplay:
When I first got the game it was actually not working, the servers were down for most of the day and the development team was not too good with the responses. After this went and I actually managed to jump on and actually get into a server it was actually a lot of fun, coming from games and mods such as Arma 2 DayZ Mod and DayZ Standalone, I was expecting this game to raise the bar to the highest it ever has, but this was not true, in terms of DayZ Standalone it can be compared, but to the depths of Arma2 DayZ Mods no it can't, with that all aside though, this game is great since it is free to play, although not yet? You will eventually play for free, you are paying for the early access. The game flowed weirdly but was good enough, I actually didn't find that many bugs compared to the standalone and the arma 2 mod which is a great plus on their side, obviously though there will be bugs since it's still early access, but hopefully these Developers will be able to get updates out quickly to fix them. The game allows you to play online with other people and the main aim of the game is to survive, now there are many ways you can do this! This is where the game has some good features, ideas and plans. When playing the game the zombies did seem to have some actually good intelligence, every time I encountered a zombie, it was different making the game dynamic, interesting and you will have to think on the best route to take! When playing the game I noticed if you was in a huge group of players, for example with 7 friends, there will be more zombies, which can cause mayhem and can actually be a real bad problem. The game features a real good weather dynamics which brings atmosphere and makes the game more immersive and realistic, which kind of gives you a true sense of survival, especially with the day and night cycles. Since the game has so many different ways you can go about things for example, you can use bare hands, weapons such as guns and axes, so if you don't want to make any noise, it's best to use bare hands/axe, you see where I'm going with this! Like other games, you can craft weapons, find them in loot piles, or even steal them off players. The game features vehicles but I've not managed to actually drive one yet. The possibilities in this game are actually endless, you can create traps, explosives, water collectors and many more, you will need to spend so many weekends in order to have the best things on the server! I actually haven't managed to fully build a base yet, but from what I've seen you will need to grind for the resources! All in all the game wen't well, it does seem like pay to win at the minute, but more on that soon.

Graphics:
Having played other zombie survival games, I was expecting this one to be like the others; Bad frame rates, poor game optimization, Cartoon looking graphics etc, the list could go on and on, but back to the graphics, this game actually did itself good in this section again. When running in populated areas and towns, my frames actually never went below 50! It was great being able to play with decent frames on a game like this it just compliments the graphics even more! I had the game on ultra and although it was good looking and nice, it wasn't really the next generation. With this said though, the games graphics absolutely go well with this game, no need for fancy graphics here!, you have full customization with the graphics like other games so you'll just have to find the right options for you. That brings me to another point, I actually found the graphics solid, with no actually bugs that I've seen graphical wise. The lighting system could also maybe be a little better but isn't really a must in my opinion, since the game just at the minute focus on pure game play features and things they can do to make the game more interesting etc.

Controls:
When it comes to the controls, there are actually quite alot, but if you've played many PC games and games such as ARMA, then the controls are actually quite basic, when playing with the control layout it seemed to pretty much fit the way I play already, there was no need for me to go around customizing a lot of things, it pretty much suited me. The controls felt very responsive and very standard to other games I have played, there is not much to say about the controls really other than there are a lot of combinations and customization you can do to improve/benefit you, just try the game out and let me know about your opinions on the controls!

I haven't really heard anything about this game until here recently. I think that I might have to get this game from reading your review and hearing my friends talk about it.

Solid review, bud.

UPDATE: So I bought this game because I kept looking at this review and it really got me wanting to purchase it so I did. If you like Rust and DayZ then pick this up and make your friend buys it as well. It can be very hard to get started but is really fun.
