Game Information
Release Date: September 30, 2014
Developers: Monolith Productions, Behaviour Interactive
Publishers: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows
Genre: Action role-playing game(RPG)
Players: Single player game

Synopsis
The game takes place between the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. The family of Talion, a ranger of Gondor responsible for guarding the Black Gate of Mordor, is killed by Sauron's armies, but Talion is revived with "wraith-like abilities" and heads into Mordor to exact his revenge. Mordor is not yet a barren wasteland in this story. The player will encounter Gollum. Talion discovers that the wraith who revived him is Celebrimbor, the greatest Elven smith master of the Second Age, who also seeks revenge against Sauron.

Plot
Talion, a ranger captain, serves within a Gondorian garrison stationed at the Black Gate of Mordor. The garrison is attacked by Sauron's Orc forces led by three Black Nmenrean captains; the Hammer of Sauron, the Tower of Sauron, and their leader, the Black Hand of Sauron. Talion, his wife Ioreth, and his son, Dirhael, are captured and ritually sacrificed by the Black Hand in an attempt to summon the wraith of the Elf Lord Celebrimbor. However, Celebrimbor (who suffers from amnesia due to his status as a wraith) decides to merge with Talion, preventing him from dying with his family. Talion and Celebrimbor then carry on to uncover Celebrimbor's identity and avenge the death of Talion's family.

Gameplay(Single Player)
This game is absolutely outstanding. The game play in this game is a lot of fun and will pull you in the entire time playing it. In this game you have 3 weapons, a sword, a bow, and daggers. There are 10 challenges for each of these weapons you unlock through playing the game, when you complete all 10 for your weapon you unlock the legend for that weapon. The sword is for foe to foe combat, the daggers are for stealth attacks, and the bow is for ranged attacks(time slows down when aiming down bow sights) this takes a little while to charge, it can charge by draining enemies. They also added a Nemeses Mode to this game. Nemeses are randomly named Uruk enemies that are generated uniquely with each play through of the game. Each nemesis has their own personality and will rise or fall within their social structure as the game progresses. They are affected by Talion's actions, and each will react differently to Talion's incursion into Mordor, be it fighting, fleeing, or some other reaction. By defeating these notable enemies, Talion is rewarded Runes to increase the power of his weapons. The runes are for each weapon, there are regular, rare, and EPIC runes. Along the journey of finding the Black Hand and seeking your revenge, there are side quests you may also do to rank Talion up by gaining him experience, with it you can unlock new abilities on the ability tree. The ranking system in this game is easy and there is no ranking up per say, just unlocking abilities on the tree and building your character up by doing different things in Gondor.

Graphics
The graphics in this game are absolutely outstanding. I have only played in on the Xbox One and the graphics were surprisingly incredible. Everything looked very realistic, which in a Lord of The Rings based game is extremely important. It looks like the put a lot into the graphics in this game and it definitely shows. The faces, hair, animals, Uruk's, they all look extremely realistic. Especially when cutting off the heads of Uruk's it looks pretty awesome. The animations in the executions you do in this game also have amazing graphics.

Controls
Note: I am explaining from a xbox one standpoint. This game has very easy controls. It is straight to the point and very easy to use. There are not many buttons for controls on this game, every control is pretty simple and not hard to figure out. As a comparison to any other game there really is not many, the closest game in comparison to controls I would say is the Assassin's Creed Series. Overall the controls are very easy and takes almost no time to get down.

Pros/Cons
Pros:
1. It is a unique RPG and different from many others, it gives the game a very nice feel to it
2. There is much to do in the game, extremely hard to be bored of it
3. The story is fantastic and gives some cool backstory to you Lord of The Rings lovers
4. The game is simple and is built very well with outstanding graphics

Cons:
1. It is a bit pricey, $59.99 usd
2. The game is challenging, for those who do not like dying
3. If buying for someone under 18, it has pretty graphic violence (beheading, blood, graphic scenes)

Rating
Gameplay: 10/10
Graphics: 9.5/10
Controls: 9.5/10
Overall: 9.6/10

No, this game is a lot more simple if you will. I would compare this game setup more to Assassins Creed honestly. There is no weapon changing you get what you get and that is about it. Also the quests and game length is just very similar of that to Assassins Creed, same with the controls.
