General Information
Release Date: December 24th, 2004
Developer: Facepunch Studios
Publisher: Valve
Genre: Sandbox/Physics Game
Platforms(s): PC

Synopsis
"Garry's Mod is a physics sandbox. There aren't any predefined aims or goals. We give you the tools and leave you to play."

Gameplay
This game is run off Valve's notable Source Engine. Mechanically Garry's Mod plays similar to games running off that engine such as Counter Strike: Source. Although your objective in this game is very different from any game Valve has published.
In single-player there is no "set" objective. It is a sandbox. Open for you to manipulate with the power of your Tool Gun. Sled down a mountain, create a jetback, or create a rocket scooter. Nearly anything you think of has the possibility to be created in Garry's Mod sandbox world. Although the single-player is fun and enjoyable, the multi-player is where this game gets very enjoyable.
The multi-player is composed of several game-types that have implemented to work in the game. You have games such as Trouble in Terrorist Town, Prop Hunt, and Zombie Survival. All of them are mods, and all of them are available to play. Most of the game-modes that are community based involve guns or weapons. Even though they all have guns there is so much variety between the game-modes that you will almost never get bored. Everything in this community is based off the community, and it works exceptionally off the steam workshop. Upon joining a lobby, everything you need to be able to play will be downloaded from there. It really makes the game easy and enjoyable because you don't have to download external add-ons from a outside source.

Graphics
Although this game was first produced in 2004 it has great graphics. Obviously it isn't mind-blowing like Skyrim or Battlefield. BUT, it does have very clear and playable graphics. Also there are hardly any to no frame-rate drops because this game has been modified and updated many times to fix any problems that arise. Because this game was produced in 2004, almost any modern PC now-a-day can play it smoothly. Being able for many players to run it on there PC's is what has made this game so popular. It was a very smart decision on the developers part. As the graphics are not what this game is about, and known for, but, as with any game, they do make a difference.

Controls
Almost all of the controls are the same as Counter Strike, which is a very good thing. It makes the game simple. It is the common W,A,S,D for movement and your mouse to look. Anything extra will either be taught to you on screen or through simply looking at the controls in the options menu. Either way the controls are very easy to pickup, and very early on you will master how to use them, when to use certain ones, and you will almost never have to look in that controls menu again.

Ratings
Gameplay (fun enjoyable, creative): 9/10
Graphics (nothing special, not demanding): 6/10
Controls (simple, easy to master): 9/10
Overall: 8/10
This is a game you need/should have in your steam inventory. It is a enjoyable experience with a lot of fun gameplay. Good-luck out there, with anything that you decide to build.
